Aeratis.  products are made of non-cellular PVC and offer an unequalled combination of product performance, durability, workability and appearance. Aeratis porch boards are manufactured in capped color-through and a paint ready option. Aeratis offers porch flooring in 3-1/8” and a true 6” wide T&G planks. Accessories in the same formulation are, stair tread (UPP), 5” beaded ceiling, quarter round, and chamfer noising. GENERAL

  • SUBMITTALS
    1. Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 – Administrative Requirements.
    2. Product Data: Manufacturer’s data sheets on each product to be used, including:
      1. Preparation instructions and recommendations.
      2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
      3. Installation methods.
    3. Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 3 inches (76.2 mm) square representing actual product, color, and patterns.
  • QUALITY ASSURANCE
    1. Regulatory Requirements: Comply with requirements of authorities having jurisdiction and applicable codes at the location of the project.
    2. Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of experience manufacturing similar products.
    3. Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience installing similar products.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such precautions. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.

  1. Mock-Ups: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.
    1. Construct area designated by Architect.
    2. Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship is accepted by Architect.
    3. Remodel mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
  • DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
    1. Deliver and store products in manufacturer’s unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer’s identification until ready for installation.
    2. Comply with manufacturer’s recommendations. Handle materials to avoid damage.
  • PROJECT CONDITIONS
    1. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer’s recommended limits.
  • WARRANTY
    1. Provide manufacturer’s standard limited warranty for products, stating that components will be free from defects in material that occur as a direct result of the manufacturing process, occur under normal use and service, occur during the warranty period and result in blistering, peeling, flaking, cracking, splitting, cupping, rotting or structural defects from termites or fungal decay.

  1. Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01 60 00 – Product Requirements.
  • PORCH FLOORING
    1. Thermal Characteristics: Provide products complying with the following:
      1. Flame Spread Index: Less than 76, ASTM E 84.
    2. Porch Flooring: Material shall have the following characteristics:
      1. Proudct{Product:6}:
      2. Surface Texture: Embossed Smooth both sides.
      3. Edge Profile: Tongue and groove.
      4. Color: {color:7}
      5. Trim: {trim:10}
      6. Stair and Picture Frame: {Stair Option:12}

  • ACCESSORlES’
    1. Fasteners: Stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized, 2” ½” crown 15 or 18 gauge staple, 18 gauge “T” nail, 18 gauge “L” nail or 2” #7 Trim head screw
    2. Joint Adhesives: Oatey Heavy-Duty PVC Cement, UV stable, water-based PVC cement.
    3. Joist Adhesives: Urethane based construction adhesive.
    4. T&G Sealants: Siliconized caulk for paint-ready projects.

  • 3 EXECUTION
    • EXAMINATION
      1. Verification of Conditions: Examine areas and conditions under which work is to be performed and identify conditions that may be detrimental to proper or timely completion.
      2. For porch flooring installations, ensure surfaces are suitable for T&G installation and that adequate structural support has been provided.
        1. Standard Installation: Confirm that joists are spaced at 16 inches on center maximum and are sloped at a minimum of 1/4 inch per foot away from the building.
        2. Forty-five Degree Angle Installation: Confirm that joists are spaced at 16 inches on center maximum and are sloped at a minimum of 1/4 inch per foot away from the building.
        3. It is not recommended to install Aeratis porch product parallel to the structure, however this can be done with success.
      3. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
    • INSTALLATION
      1. General: Install products in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, approved submittals, and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.
        1. Use manufacturer’s recommended fasteners, not more than 2 inches from ends. Pneumatic flooring nailer using either nails or staples should be used when ever possible.
        2. Glue butt-joints to eliminate joint separation.
        3. Use urethan based construction adhesive on the joist as best practice.
      2. Porch Flooring Installation (Joist span 16”OC max:
        1. Install with either side up for the walking surface. Aeratis products are double sided
        2. Fasten tight to joists. Provide shims or additional blocking if there are variations in framing.
        3. Countersink fasteners slightly to provide necessary clearance when installing the next board.
        4. Square boards prior to installation on the sided facing the structure
        5. Cut final boards as required for proper appearance.
  • PROTECTION
    1. Protect from damage during construction operations. Promptly repair any damaged surfaces. Remove and replace work which cannot be satisfactorily repaired.
    2. Clean products, prior to Substantial Completion, using materials recommended by the manufacturer to remove stains, dirt and debris prior to final acceptance.
